Powerful Yet Intuitive Audio Mixing with AUM
AUM by Kymatica AB offers a seamless and flexible audio mixing experience, perfect for musicians and sound designers alike.
AUM is a versatile audio mixer, recorder, and connection hub for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch. It allows users to connect various hardware inputs and outputs, Audio Unit extensions, Inter-App Audio apps, Audiobus, soundfile players, built-in signal processing and filters in any desired configuration.
This app offers the ability to route audio signals anywhere through mix busses, effect sends, audiobus ports, and external multi-channel audio interfaces. Users can also play hosted synths and instruments using the built-in keyboard or external MIDI controllers, as well as sequence them with AU MIDI plugins or from other apps using Virtual MIDI.
A noteworthy feature is the ability to record mixes, individual tracks, or both directly into the storage space of AudioShare without the need for file copying. The app also allows for playback of recordings, soundfiles, and loops as channel sources in the mixer for backing tracks, further processing or mixing. Soundfiles can be opened from various sources including USB drives on iOS 13 and later.
Additionally, AUM provides a MIDI matrix that allows for routing and filtering MIDI in any desired manner. Users can combine and filter MIDI endpoints using MIDI buses.
The app also offers synchronization features such as transport clock synchronization with other apps or devices using Ableton Link. It also allows users to connect external music machines and synchronize them with MIDI Clock.
Users will benefit from built-in processing nodes for stereo processing, Mid/Side balance and conversion, EQs and filters, limiting, clipping, and saturation. Alternatively, they can use any 3rd party Audio Unit extension or Inter-App Audio effect.

The app also includes various built-in signal processing capabilities such as stereo balance control, stereo to mono conversion, stereo panning, Mid/Side balance control, Mid/Side to stereo conversion, phase inversion, parametric EQ, low-shelf filter, high-shelf filter, low-pass resonant filter, high-pass resonant filter, LP/HP combo filter, first-order all-pass filter, second-order all-pass filter, gain adjustment, hard clipping, saturation, and lookahead peak limiting.
